For the Redding area, PG&E reports the outages are affecting 877 customers north and northwest of Highway 299 and Lake Boulevard. Some 3,989 customers are without power in the Anderson area while 850 customers lost electricity in the Igo and Ono areas.

The project, masterminded by design architect Moshe Safdie, would have been difficult enough, considering the busy airport, limited site access and a congested location, with an active elevated train slicing through the center. But the usual constraints of airport expansions don’t hold a candle to Jewel, which is no ordinary mall—airport or not. Its retail levels are hidden by a five-level forest under glass, complete with canyons, a valley and a 40-m-tall waterfall.

The victims are all from Humboldt County. They have been identified as James Cohee Jr., 42, of Trinidad, Chloe Chapman, 28, of Eureka and Cody Behler, 32, of Arcata, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Wrangler Rubicon is no Renegade. In Italy, a Wrangler Rubicon costs three times more than a Renegade and it’s at least 30 times less common. The infrastructure to move and store ammonia is already in place. While ammonia doesn’t burn well, farmers are used to handling it. So, the challenge was to design a system to turn the ammonia into a more efficient fuel.

The two test cars featured almost no camouflage, retaining some masking tape on the front bumper, headlights and taillights to cover the finer details of an otherwise evolutionary design.

If the diesel-powered heavy-duty truck is intended to power other machinery, a factory integrated, engine-driven power takeoff is available with the Allison 10-speed.

If you are a long-established car marque, with a distinguished history and at least one iconic car model to your name, how would you launch both the latest models in your new range alongside your all-new electric powertrain?

The Titan XD has a few new features for 2019 (elaborate Fender audio system, for one) but it’s largely the same truck introduced for 2016: heavier-duty than a non-heavy-duty, less heavy-duty than a heavy-duty. Follow? The XD’s 5.0-liter Cummins V-8 makes 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque, which you’d think would be enough to smash every half-ton’s tow rating, but not really—the XD maxes out at 12,710 pounds towing, which these days is a half-ton number. Max payload is likewise more in line with half-tons than HDs, at 2,490 pounds. Part of the issue is that the truck itself weighs as much as 6,740 pounds, so the Cummins does a lot of work hauling around its Nissan wrapper before the first stick of firewood goes in the bed.
